šŸ“– The Scripture passage came true. It says, ā€œAbraham believed God, and that faith was regarded as the basis of Abrahamā€™s approval by God.ā€ So Abraham was called Godā€™s friend. ā€”James 2:23 GW

What a compliment it is to be called a ā€œfriend of Godā€. This should be the goal of every believer. The good news is that we have the characteristics of what made Abraham a friend of God. He simply believed God, which is commonly easier said than done. Godā€™s Word says that we are healed, yet many are saying that they are sick. Godā€™s Word tells us that we are righteous, and yet many Christians call themselves sinners ā€˜saved by graceā€™. You cannot be a sinner and a Christian at the same time. When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are no longer sinners. The Blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin, and sin has no more dominion over us. God is not a man that He should lie. Because of that, we can believe His Word and act on it. As we do that on a consistent basis, weā€™ll see change in our lives and in our status with God. You wonā€™t just be a child of God; you will be considered a ā€œfriend of Godā€.
