📖 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
—Philippians 3:8-10 NKJV
Our citizenship is in heaven. When we understand and hold on to that, it helps us to keep things in the proper perspective. When we set our minds on things above, it keeps us free from the love of the world. We don’t want to be like those who are ‘enemies of the cross’. Those people have their mind on earthly things. They are consumed with the things of this earth and rarely discuss heavenly things. We are to seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness and all the other things will be added to us. We have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness. When that is on our minds, there will be no destruction in our lives. Our god won’t be our bellies, and we won’t be so earthly minded that we are no heavenly good. We are ambassadors of Heaven, eagerly waiting for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ!
