On Friday, October 13th, the NextGen Youth Ministry hosted a prelude to their next year’s lock-in event called the Warm-Up. This event was a special request from the youth since they didn’t get to have a lock-in earlier this year. The event began on Friday evening around 7 p.m. and ended at midnight. At the beginning of the event, the chaperones confiscated all the youth’s cell phones so they could disconnect from technology, better engage with their peers, and enjoy a wide variety of indoor activities.

The fun began when all the youth gathered in the center of the gym floor for a game of dodgeball. The chaperones were each handed a ball for everyone to participate in the first game of the night. The rest of the evening was filled with more fun games and activities such as a scavenger hunt, a 2-v-2 basketball tournament, volleyball, pool tables, cupcake decorating, painting on a canvas, tie-dying t-shirts, arcade gaming, video game tournaments, and more!

Throughout the evening, the youth enjoyed lots of snacks, candy, drinks, wings, and pizza! Guests from Mt. Zion Christian Ministries and Centrifuge Church were also able to join the fun! We give God all the glory that we are able to provide a fun and safe environment for our youth and to lavish them with the love of God. If you’re interested in having your 12-18-year-old join the NextGen youth ministry, please check the upcoming events tab for updates on their next event!
